PhatBoy Clothing™ is a family owned business that was born out of a personal need to find affordable, good quality, larger sized clothing. It was a constant struggle to find my size, and if I did, it was very expensive and options were very limited.

The name “Phat Boy” originated from a slang term meaning “great, wonderful,terrific”……and of course tongue-in-cheek, referring to size, but ultimately stating that you can be GREAT, WONDERFUL and TERRIFIC, no matter what your size! We started out with T-shirts for men only, but were rather quickly convinced to expand our range to include ladies designs. Hence, “Phat Boy for Girls” was born. We are very fortunate that our print designs appealed to our customers from the start and our range is growing based on need.

I kicked off my career in the clothing retail industry in 1993 and worked my way up to senior management level. My wife and I have a combined 50+ years of experience in retail and customer service. We have old school values and believe in honesty, integrity and hard work. We believe in sharing our success and in making South-Africa a better place for all.
